Since yesterday evening, hundreds (if not thousands) of people have logged on to AirAsia’s website to book their free seats. My friend informed me of the news shortly after we ended our meeting at 6:30pm yesterday. We went to AirAsia’s site to take a look and to our delight, we were greeted by countless “0.00″s on the page (hehe). But the thing is, we had no plans to go for any trip, at that time.

Most of us are making reservations just for the sake of ‘getting the free seats’. Freeloading at its best, that is. Despite the fact that other charges still apply, many are contented with the scrapping of only airfares. We talked about going for a trip last night on MSN, but found it quite difficult to decide on a travel period that best suits everybody - within a short time. This itself is a big headache. It seems like the trip would need to be planned in a haste.

As hundreds of free seats are being snapped up with each passing hour, hopes of getting our ideal travel period and destination is quickly fading. One of us even suggested that our company trip be ‘down-scaled’ to somewhere nearer - somewhere that doesn’t require air travel. That’s not a bad idea at all, actually. But the thought of forgoing the free seats………

Gah!
