Barbeques Galore!

We had a BBQ-cum-steamboat gathering at Jimmy’s place on new year’s eve. It was an all-guys kinda thing before Toong’s babe came along. We rarely had meet-ups since we left school, so that night was really nice. Yeah we’re all unhappening peeps – tried to shun every single crowded place we knew on new year’s eve. But we later decided that we couldn’t miss the fireworks, hehe. We deliberated over this for a while, and then made our way to Sunway Pyramid. And no, we didn’t go inside where the party’s at (you need to pay!). We did it the el cheapo way – watched the fireworks from the outside. Hell yeah.

It would’ve been much better if there weren’t any Mat Rempits revving their asses off opposite the road. Traffic came to almost a standstill, and everybody went like “ooh, aah, wahh” (at the fireworks, not the Mat Rempits, damn it). Besides taking still photos, I also managed to record a video of the fireworks (length: 3:11). It’s been uploaded on YouTube (I shan’t embed it here in this post – hop on over to YouTube to view it if you’d like :). So far it’s been viewed 63 times, and favorited once! *Grins proudly*. It’s my second-ever YouTube upload, hehe). Towards the end of the fireworks display, there was a loud explosion near where we stood. Some mofo among the crowd had set off a firecracker. People like that should rot in hell.

And then last weekend we were in Marianne‘s house for yet another BBQ gathering. It was also a sort of reunion, but with mostly the ‘Oreo Gang’ (don’t ask me how this name came about) members. Unlike the one on new year’s eve, this time the ladies outnumbered the guys. This probably also explains why I ate like as if there were no tomorrow. Ladies being ladies (actually, it’s Skay), they prepared (read: marinated) beforehand – so naturally the food turned out tastier. Seriously, I gobbled up the last two pieces of chicken wings (they were gonna throw them away because everyone couldn’t take anymore). *Clears throat* Actually, Naz had a hand in cooking them. I suppose he did a great job as well! :D. After cleaning up the place, we went inside and played Taboo.

Taboo was really fun, especially when hand gestures were allowed. To make one say “pickpocket”, all you gotta do is mention “LRT” and “bad guys”. To make one say “Uranus” without mentioning “solar system”, among other terms, Marianne used “your behind”. Needless to say, no one got it. We later realized that she meant “your anus”. Gee. I must also admit that some of the words given sounded strange to me. I wonder if there is a BM-version of Taboo. It’d be so interesting! We left Marianne’s place shortly after midnight.

I had a good kick-start to a brand new year. How was your first week? ;).

  4. Hey David.

Thanks. Actually this is pretty much a ‘standard wordpress’ site. The theme’s called ‘Intense’, by Sadish Bala. Should’ve credited him at the footer. In any case you could always view a site’s source code to know the theme’s name. The style.css file is usually called from the theme’s folder! :)

The CSS gallery’s awesome huh? I couldn’t believe I actually spent about 3 hours trying to get the whole thing to work. I get a kick out of doing that :p In the end it’s all worth it.

    Thanks for dropping by man!
