Reviving a Washing Machine-Soaked Nokia 6230
Ok, mom’s phone somehow made its way into a washing machine. The first thing not to do was of course to try switching it back on immediately. Instead, I had its casing, battery and SIM card removed (anything else was gonna get a little tricky).

Hell yeah. It was a good idea. Mom asked if it could be left in the sun. Well here’s a note: Sun-drying is a nono!

Finally, it’s back! :).
Btw, I wonder if the iPhone’s water-proof ;)

good excuse to get a new one!
OHMYGOD like that also can. I so LOVE NOKIA. Wohooo.
Why cannot use sun for drying?
The hairdryer deos the trick every time! I’ve had to do this more than once ;)
Wuching - I want an iPhone :(
Che-cheh - Well seriously, I’ve always found Nokia to be really tough!
I think if you put it under the sun it’ll get too hot, the circuitry will burn, the casing will melt, the colour will probably fade and the LCD will be damaged! Furthermore it’s more difficult for you to estimate how long it’ll be exposed to the sun. What if you left it outside just a tad too long? (Malaysian weather!!)
Another thing is that - with sun drying although you’ve got the heat and temperature, it’s mostly static air. A hair dryer’s fan helps you to reach deeper inside the phone - so wind + temperature actually help dry up your phone more effectively.
Alex! Your device must be one real tough-nut to have experienced that numerous times (and is still working perfectly)!
Thanks for dropping by, everyone ;)
