We went to Jurong for our last day of work, together with our luggages. We left for the airport later that evening. The flight home was delayed slightly, and I reached home at about 9:30pm. Went to office the next day, followed by the gym that night. Absolutely drained, I was! This is gonna be my final blog entry covering my trip to Singapore.

Clarke Quay

Believe me the fountains looked much nicer in real (there’s only so much I could capture with my humble camera). Little kids were seen having splashing fun while their parents had their meal at nearby restaurants.

And there was this cute restaurant called Clinic, with interesting deco and setting that would immediately remind you of Hospital Besar Kuala Lumpur.

How about sitting on wheelchairs while you dine? I saw (able-bodied) children wheeling about happily on those wheelchairs. Looked kinda fun.

Colourful reflections. Me likey. I realized I have this weird inclination towards snapping pictures of reflections, wherever I go! They never fail to capture my attention.

This is the view on the other side of the bridge. That two brightly-lit poles in the background belonged to the G-Max elastic ride. For a fee, you could strap yourself in a little capsule suspended by elastic cables, and experience some serious G-force.

Perspective shot. Tried standing a little further to the right, but my hand shook slightly. So this was my next best capture. Note the trash bin halfway down the bridge.

Chinatown

I forgot that I have photos taken in Chinatown about a fortnight ago. Honestly, there was nothing much in Chinatown! Boring as anything.

Well at least I had my Lumix in my hands. Thank goodness. Now let’s move on to the malls. I visited quite a number of Singaporean malls, but rarely took pictures. I was at Takashimaya for lunch with a friend, before walking past Ngee Ann City towards Borders.

Orchard Road

That’s where the Subaru Impreza Challenge was held. Contestants were supposed to place their hand on the handprint (on the car) as long as they can. When we arrived, they had already been there for more than 30 hours.

I’ve heard about this contest in previous years, but this was my first time actually witnessing it. The guys were really determined to win the car.

But I can see why. If I were to take part, I die-die also won’t lift my hand off the car! We’re talking about the brand new Subaru Impreza ok… Although it’s not the WRX version, it’s still sexy.

Spent about half an hour in Borders that day. Came out empty handed. Must at least take picture of its entrance.

VivoCity

The rooftoop garden (or Sky Park, as they’d call it) in VivoCity was a good place to chill out and relax. Seriously. What a happening place it was!

Hundreds of people gathered around and picnicked there on that Saturday night. They’d bring their mats, sit on the grass and chat, play games and just have fun.

The obligatory reflections. Hehe.

My friend remarked that Singapore was so small that a tourist spot, a shopping mall, and a container yard were located adjacent to each other. I couldn’t disagree.

Anyway, I was bemused by the number of people picnicking in the Sky Park that night. It must have been their weekly hangout place. I wish my friends and I would do that when we were younger.

Random Shots

I was going to stop writing when I remembered I took this picture. Two jokers actually stopped (abruptly, suddenly) in the middle of the road to settle some ‘misunderstanding’ between them. Pretty amusing I must say.

Captured in Suntec Singapore - a simple yet captivating (water-)show.

That’s the Singapore Flyer. We were hoping we could take a ride in the ferris wheel during out trip. It turned out that the Singapore Flyer will only be officially opened in March, next year.

Homebound

No that wasn’t our plane. Of course not. It’s exciting to know that Singapore Airlines took delivery of their new, much-hyped Airbus A380 during our stay on the island republic.

We had plenty of time at the airport waiting for our flight. So here’s another shot of the Big Bird. Compare it with the plane next to it ;).

My flight back home was pretty comfy. A certain someone taught me to pick the seat near the emergency exit, knowing that I always have problems with legroom (or rather, lack thereof).

Don’t play play ok… There’re special instructions and requirements for passengers seated near the emergency doors. You have to be able-bodied and know how to open the emergency hatch. Haha.

P/s: I hope the pictures loaded quickly enough for you! ;)
