We’re seconds away from a spanking brand new year and let me tell you, 2007 has been nothing short of rewarding as far as blogging is concerned. I made many new friends and saw many new faces - each has their own writing style and their own legion of readers. Best of all, it is gratifying to know that some of these people actually do recognize you and have at some point in time dropped by your blog before.

Yesterday I had one such opportunity (possibly the final one in 2007) - to go out and meet several fellow Malaysian bloggers at Pavilion KL. Esther told me that there would be a free AVP screening, and asked if I was interested. As a freeloader, I’m always up for anything that employs the ‘no-payment’ scheme. After the movie, I was thankful that the ticket was free because otherwise I’d have kicked myself for actually paying to watch it. Oh right, this post isn’t supposed to be about AVP…

As a blogger, when you have someone else’s iPhone in your hand, the first thing you do is always fire up the built-in Safari browser and surf to your own site, as demonstrated in the picture above. Apparently the Safari didn’t like Estherchin.com, because the browser would quit automatically after about 70% of the site had been loaded. I think the site was just too hawt for Safari. Or maybe it was the blogger…

I must acknowledge KY for helping to snap the picture. And of course, Esther as well for inviting me to the screening. Actually I still don’t know who gave out the tickets, I only know Exabytes and Nuffnang were behind the whole thing. Narrowband.org is hosted on Exabytes so if you asked me, I still prefer surprises of this kind. Hehe. Nevertheless, thanks for the free show.

We were given this goodie bag which contained several familiar items, because I’ve already got them - the Exabytes 2008 calendar and Enveluv’s Christmas card (Rinnah sent one to me!). The only things I dig are the pen and that notebook lah. A few of us later adjourned for a drink at Ochacha (for the record, yes I am subscribed to Masak-masak because that blog is awesome!), whose lady boss was so hospitable that she made me feel like going back there again. Haha. Seriously.

It gave me great pleasure to meet Edward, Eddie, Sewjin (funny guy from UTM - a third-year Mechanical major! I love this dude), Louiss and a couple of other webmasters and mistresses whose names have escaped me. I was probably the only blogger there who does not make any money from blogging. Felt kinda ironic to be there at all, but heck, I got to watch AVP for free. Not that the movie was great also but…… bah!

Happy 2008 to all fellow bloggers, my faithful RSS subscribers, silent readers and friends! May the new year bring you more good luck, good health, good money, good love, good qi, good career prospect, good GPA…

P/s: Btw my peers and I will have this Tai Sui conflict (犯太岁) in 2008 leh… Gotta go to the temple liao.
