The Great Penang Food Hunt

In all my trips to the Pearl of the Orient, I had never gone food hunting the way I did last weekend. Our ‘tour guide’ Eric had prepared a comprehensive itinerary that promised us nothing but the best food on the island!

Travelogue: Singapore in Photos

We went to Jurong for our last day of work, together with our luggages. We left for the airport later that evening. The flight home was delayed slightly, and I reached home at about 9:30pm. Went to office the next day, followed by the gym that night. Absolutely drained, I was! This is gonna be my final blog entry covering my trip to Singapore.

Believe me the fountains looked much nicer in real (there’s only so much I could capture with my humble camera). Little kids were seen having splashing fun while their parents had their meal at nearby restaurants.

How to Create Mini Polaroids in Photoshop

Today I’m gonna spend some time to share with you how to produce something like this:

How to Create Mini Polaroids in Photoshop | Narrowband.org

This was a special request by Eunice, who was clearly hungry for more tricks after reading my previous Photoshop entry (by the way, she turns 23 today, so Happy Birthday Eunice!). She showed me an example on Ladyshanice’s blog (I was told that she was some beauty queen… which I’m not surprised), and she said that she wanted to produce something similar. To be honest, I hadn’t done this before but it shouldn’t be too difficult. Let’s try it, step-by-step:

How to Resize Multiple Photos in Photoshop

A friend just asked me if I had any software to resize photos, not knowing that Adobe Photoshop could do just that. If you have Photoshop installed, look no further. We’ll do something called ‘Batch Processing’ in Photoshop. It’s the same way how photos on Narrowband.org are watermarked and framed. It’s a pain to manually repeat the same steps for every photo, especially if you have more than 40 photos (in my Siem Reap photo gallery, there’re more 400!).

This tutorial is widely available on the internet, but I’m just going to share it here with Narrowband.org audience (I know for a fact that many among my friends do not know this). Here it is, step-by-step:

Step 1: Open a photo in Photoshop.

Step 2: Create a new Action in your Actions Window. (If you don’t know which is your Actions Window, hit ALT+F9 repeatedly).

E-Nite 2007

The E-Nite is an annual event organized by the Engineering Society. It has always been one of the most anticipated and celebrated events of the year. Attendees are usually students from the Faculty of Engineering (FOE), although it is open to all.

The pictures here are mostly group-pictures. The rest are available for private-viewing (you know the deal with ladies - some might not like the attention!). Details are at the end of this entry.

2007 Chinese New Year Photo Gallery

Or rather, temple visits gallery. It’s the second day of the 2007 Lunar New Year today. Fortunately, it is not raining. I mean what is CNY when the sky’s cloudy? We had a reunion dinner on CNY eve. Leading the 9-course meal was none other than the obligatory dish - the yee sang.

How to Create a CSS Photo Gallery

This is based on the article on Dynamic Drive. I applied the technique in one of my posts early this month. That single post contained 32 images. To display all of them within a post would take up a lot of space, so the CSS Photo Gallery is the perfect solution.

Photo Gallery Created

I created a new section called ‘Photo Gallery‘. It’s simply a place where I share ’some’ photos (my first one has about 400 photos, hehe). Currently there’s only one album - You’ll need to have Macromedia Flash installed to view the photos. There were at least 1,000 photos taken during that holiday trip, so I filtered away more than half of them. It was easy - as I only retained (mostly) scenery shots.

I don’t want to have my friends coming up to me and say “Dave! Why you put that pic?? That angle very bad lar!”. It always happens :p. I’ve been careful this time (at least I tried to filter properly, k!). All photos in the album were taken using my friends’ cameras - Mine was dunked into saltwater, remember? I replaced the camera only several months later (repair costs too high!).

Didn’t have the time to write a caption for every single photo. I’ll try to write captions in future additions, though.
