Do you like jungle-trekking? How about doing it without touching the ground? Introducing SkyTrex Adventure, where you can challenge yourself to a series of obstacles, suspended at about 3 to 17 meters above the ground. You basically need to move from one tree to another, and the entire course takes around 1 and 1/2 hours to complete - depending on your physical fitness and agility!

SkyTrex Adventure is located inside Taman Pertanian Malaysia (Malaysia Agricultural Park), Shah Alam, which is about 30-40 minutes drive from the KL City Center. If you have been following my blog since last year, you’d probably have read about my cycling excursion in that park with some friends on a Sunday morning. I didn’t know about SkyTrex Adventure back then.

We took many travel brochures from several tourist information centers and studied the daily packages that the tour companies offered. Most of them included transportation and a meal, and would cover an entire day. And the price, although clearly printed, was usually still negotiable.

On the third day we went to Ubud, Uluwatu and Jimbaran - all in a single tour. It was worth every penny. We had arranged for the day’s tour one day in advance (in fact, we actually made the phone call the night before - they were pretty flexible). Ubud was about one and half hours drive away from our hotel.

After hearing so much about Lookout Point, I decided to visit that place myself. I was there with my family (and my camera, lol) two weeks ago for dinner. Location map as well as (very detailed) directions are available all over the net, making it almost impossible to get lost finding the place. We managed to finish our dinner before sunset, perfect for photography… lol.

The photo above is an HDR (High Dynamic Range) photo. I shot that photo in RAW, and processing was done at home. This is the first time I’m putting up an HDR photo on my blog (I’m a beginner!). I’ve always admired HDR photography. There is a kind of surreal feel to HDR photos… I like that very much.

I just realized that it’d be too overwhelming to include all photos in just one blog entry. Therefore I’ve decided to break it into two parts. My trip to Bali was easily one of the best holiday trips I’ve ever had. The weather everyday was perfect, and we fully utilized the time (and money too -_-” - more on this later…) we had there.

It was the first time Jay and Rain returned to Malaysia since furthering their studies in Canada and the US respectively. We had planned the trip a couple of months in advance, with each of us booking our own flight tickets online (which also ended up in us paying different amounts, lol!).

I stood under the hot afternoon sun, ran in the rain, had my ass (almost) baked while taking shelter right next to a BBQ pit - all for the love of music. Twelve freaking hours of live music, at that. I was at the Sunburst KL International Music Festival in Bukit Kiara, last weekend.

When we arrived, the sky was still clear and there was good sunlight. We were made to stand outside the entrance while the officials checked bags and stuff. It was also clearly stated that no recording devices were permissible but it turned out that nobody actually gave a damn.

Seriously now, if it wasn’t for Air Asia X’s cheap fares, I don’t think we’d have gone to Australia for a holiday. The return tickets for an adult cost RM1xxx, and the 5-day tour cost a total of RM4xxx per adult (including flight and accommodation). That’s pretty cheap if you ask me!

Yes, my family went for this tour with some promo fares during the holidays. Both sis were on holiday so I took a few days off from work to join them. So far, in Australia, Air Asia X only flies to Gold Coast and it’s one of the airline’s hottest routes! Now Everyone Can Fly to Gold Coast!

I saw an interesting ad in one of the online newspapers’ website a few days ago. Almost without hesitation, I forwarded the link to two of my comrades and the next thing we knew, we were hovering about 50m above ground in a hot air balloon.

It actually was a workshop organized mainly to scout for crews needed for an upcoming major hot air balloon event in Malaysia later this year. I guess I shouldn’t disclose too much in detail, as the organizing team are still in the planning stages. As for this workshop, we were taught everything we needed to know about assembling, inflating and flying a hot air balloon. With plenty of hands on, no less.

The Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen temple (佛光山东禅寺) in Jenjarom, Selangor, is one of the most popular places to visit every year during the Chinese New Year period. In addition to the beautiful floral and lantern displays, the temple is also abuzz with lots of programmes and activities for visitors.

Just like last year, we paid the temple a visit in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration. We went there last night, which was the 7th day of the Lunar New Year - also traditionally known as “Everyone’s Birthday” (or ‘Day of Humanity’).

The 2008 Quiksilver Revolution 2.0 at the Sunway Lagoon’s surf beach saw some of the world’s best boarding actions performed on and off beach, much to the enjoyment of the appreciative Malaysian youths who mostly turned up revealing more skin than they usually do on normal days. It was a wicked beach party!

It vibrates. It has 5 fingers. It has an on/off switch. It can be powered by 2 AA batteries, therefore it’s portable. It can also be powered by a USB port. It’s my new toy.
