2009 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix

Having attended last year’s first-ever night F1 race, I was thrilled that I could make it for this year’s event as well.

Malaysia International Fashion Week 2008

Today marked the first time I shoot at a fashion show, although the quality of the show was just so-so. I heard that the quality of models and designs on previous days were better. To be fair, that particular show I attended was actually a showcase of young talents. For their effort, it was commendable.

Canon Photomarathon Asia 2008

At least 500 people dressed in striking red Canon shirts thronged the streets of KL the whole of last Saturday. I actually got up at 5:50am for this event, which was supposed to last a good 12 hours, from 7am all the way to 7pm. It was the Malaysian edition of Canon Photomarathon Asia 2008.

Perhentian Island Challenge 2008

I just returned from the Perhentian Island Challenge last week, which took place 17 Oct ~ 19 Oct. It was a much-needed, refreshing and timely breather for me, and I paid only RM170 for the trip. Cheapest holiday trip ever.

2008 Singapore GP Weekend

My apologies for the short (unplanned!) hiatus. I have been pretty busy lately. Today I want to share with you photos taken during my trip down to Singapore for the night race. Photos taken during the race itself can be found in my previous post.

2008 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix

Singapore played host to the world’s first Formula 1 night race last weekend, and I was lucky enough to be able to enjoy it live at the Marina Bay circuit. I purchased the walk-about ticket a few months ago, which happened to be the cheapest one on sale. No regrets at all!

Bon Odori 2008

I’m shy to say that I had never been to the Bon Odori festival before, even though I live just 15 minutes’ drive away from the event venue in Shah Alam. Last night was my first time, and obviously the first thing that amazed me was the super crowd.

The Nokia Wireless Adventure II Race (Part 3)

As we couldn’t take our own cameras along during the race, all photos shown here in this entry except for the last two – were taken using the N82 itself. During the race, we could only use one phone for uploading photos (SIM card provided by the organizers), so a little bit of strategy had to kick in here. Two in-car phone chargers were also provided for obvious reasons. The topics for the race were announced only around 5 minutes before the actual flag-off.

There were 8 Nissan Cefiros that were used as race vehicles – one for each team. We had to get back to 1U (our finish-line) in 5 and 1/2 hours’ time, and we wanted to cover 5 locations! In each car, there would be a driver, a cameraguy, a race marshal, and the two team members. Our cameraguy’s name was Desmond, our race marshal Eve, and our driver was Mr Ibrahim! Mr Ibrahim was an excellent driver because he knew almost the whole Klang Valley, including short cuts and all.
